Social Alerts - alerts and digests across all key networks

We’re excited to announce the launch of Social Alerts, a unified alerting experience that expands coverage to Reddit, TikTok, and Instagram - now alongside Facebook, X, YouTube, and web articles.

This release completes our cross-network alerting system and ensures every supported network follows the same setup and workflow.

What are the benefits?

Stay ahead of rising conversations

Identify Reddit discussions, TikTok clips, and Instagram posts as they start to gain momentum, often before they reach mainstream coverage.

Create once, monitor everywhere

Save time and maintain consistency by building alerts or digests for multiple networks at the same time. Bulk creation lets you scale your alerting process without extra steps.

Choose instant or scheduled updates

Receive alerts in real time as soon as new posts are detected, or schedule digests that summarize top-performing content on a daily or weekly basis.

Collaborate seamlessly

Send alerts directly to Slack, Microsoft Teams, or email to keep your team informed and aligned. Share updates instantly without needing to log in or check dashboards.

Full cross-network coverage

With this release, NewsWhip now provides the clearest and fastest picture of how stories and conversations spread online.

How does it work?

Social Alerts are available within the existing Alerts & Digests area of your NewsWhip dashboard.

  1. Create a new alert or digest from any dashboard search.
  2. Select your networks: Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, or web.
  3. Set your alerting criteria: post type, alert type, metrics, visual options, and frequency.
  4. Add your recipients and delivery method: Slack or Microsoft Teams for real-time only.
  5. Save and activate your alert.

All existing alerts will continue to work as before. This update simply adds new networks, bulk creation, and a consistent workflow across every supported platform.

Alerts, Digests, and Agents. How do they work together?

As NewsWhip’s monitoring ecosystem grows, it’s important to understand the difference between Alerts, Digests, and AI Monitoring Agents — and how they complement each other.

Alerts: Speed and visibility

  • Immediate visibility into what’s trending across social and web.
  • Rule-based triggers such as popular, most recent, or custom thresholds.
  • Early detection of grassroots conversations such as on Reddit, TikTok, and X.
  • Real-time collaboration via email, Slack, or Microsoft Teams.

Digests: Summary and rhythm

  • Scheduled updates that summarize top-performing stories or posts.
  • Regular reporting for teams that don’t require constant alerts.
  • Optional AI summaries (for web article coverage only).
  • Easy distribution of consistent updates to stakeholders.

Agents: Insight and action

  • Automated, analyst-quality alerts that interpret what’s happening.

  • Context around why a particular issue, article, or risk matters.

  • Continuous, hands-free monitoring of developing web stories.

  • Built for crisis and reputation response.

Alerts, Digests, and AI Agents are part of one ecosystem that supports how teams monitor stories and public attention. Together, they give teams a full picture of what is happening, what has happened, and why it matters across both social and web.
