I can't find a Site in the search results
We monitor hundreds of thousands of sources across web and social so we probably have what you’re looking for. If not, we can add new sites and social accounts for you within 24 hours. Simply contact our Customer Success team for assistance.
I can’t find an article on Spike!
If we monitor the site then we probably have the article. The first step is to restrict your search to the website in question. Second, enter the headline as a keyword, enclosing it in inverted commas. The headline may have changed since the article was originally published, so please include a short quote from the lede as a keyword in its place.
Please note that publishers often make changes to an article’s canonical URL to reflect updates to their story over time. This can result in the original article being split in two on Spike and being monitored as separate stories.
Our time settings on Spike are quite sensitive. Articles that were published on the day preceding your query will not show up in a 24 hour search if they are 24+ hours old. It’s recommended to run a 3 day search for anything published the previous day - just to make sure.
I want to monitor all content from a single subsection of a website
No problem. First of all, identify how the subsection is displayed within the website URL. Let’s say, for example, that you want to monitor all travel content from The Guardian. Within the URL, this is displayed as follows: https://www.theguardian.com/travel.
Next, select The Guardian as the source that you wish to monitor on Spike. Next, enter the travel section as a keyword. Please make sure to include the forward slash and put the entire keyword in inverted commas, like so.
I’m not getting any results for my location or language
We currently monitor content published in over 230 countries and regions worldwide, in international, national and sub-national languages. This number grows on a daily basis.
If you’re not seeing content from a particular country, please check with your Customer Success Manager to see if we’re monitoring the sources that matter to you. If not, we can include them in our database for you within 24 hours.
The languages that we feature on Spike are included partly due to client demand. If there’s a language that you require but isn’t available, please let us know.
